Title: how to automate wheel mod with logic pro?

I apologize if this has been covered, but I've searched and can't find the answer I'm looking for. I'm having an issue automating the wheel mod when using arturia soft synths in logic pro x. I can automate and save any other parameter within the synth, but when I try to record wheel mod automation, it isn't there on playback. What am I doing wrong here?
