Trying to sync my keystep to my DAW and record some sequences but I notice the MIDI notes arent precisely on grid. My whole sequence is always plus or minus 1-15ms. Sometimes its dead on, sometimes theyre slightly behind sometimes slightly ahead. I am sending clock info from my DAW (tried logic and ableton same result) via USB and the arpeggiator triggers automatically when I hit record but it just seems like its never truly synced. Adjusting MIDI delay compensation provides similarly random results. Anyone else? Do I just have to adjust everything after I record it ? Itd be helpful to just have things sync live. Thanks for your help.

is this just something that happens with every midi based sequencer and I just never noticed? I could swear this was something that wouldnt have a problem being totally on grid. Its no big deal to quantize when recording but live is a different story. in ableton perhaps track delay would be the answer? MIDI delay only gets me so close

do you have the same results using
midi din cables instead of midi usb ??
(i always found usb midi quite unstable in different situations)

unfortunately my current interface doesnt take MIDI DIN
