Title: Explorer Folder / Sub Folder structure
Post by: spacef on January 18, 2020, 10:02:44 am
Hi,

Just wanted to post a pic of my multi-instrument  "DSP Oscillators for Pigments".

It is a pity that each octave have to appear in the root of the explorer. I would prefer to show a single line  (ie SpaceF Magma), and then user can browse into it to find the C0 to C5 subfolders.

The C0 / C1 subfolders are necessary for preset creation, allowing a user o browse through all oscillators of the same root key. It would be annoying if all octaves were all in the same folder, because for auditionning oscillators, you do not want to go through each C0/C5 of the same sound.   So I would need to keep it like that.  But putting everything in a sub-folder would be even better, to keep the libary root directory clean and better organized.

And if you mind giving an ear to the playlist

(mp3 not finished for Magma, sounds better for BB2).

I agree. It would be cool to see subfolders in Pigments browser. As you suggested in another thread, Pigments should also automatically set the root note based on the sample filename (if we check an appropriate option).
