Title: MIDI AND SYSTEM SETUP?
Post by: Jawline on January 13, 2020, 02:03:24 pm
Hello everyone,,

Thanks for the tutorial video series, nicely done!

What I really want to know though, is how do you do things like setting the MIDI channel, local on/off, perform bulk dumps, etc.?

Oh, and those seemingly looping envelopes in Nori Ubukata's mod matrix video, how are things like that controlled?

Assuming you have installed the 2.0 version of the firmware (available here (https://www.arturia.com/products/matrixbrute/resources)), the system settings are explained in this video (https://youtu.be/pebepPPLXig?t=116) (starting at 2:58). It's also explained in the 2.0 FAQ (https://www.arturia.com/faq/matrixbrute/what-s-new-in-matrixbrute-update-2-0), page 59 of the 2.0 manual (http://downloads.arturia.net/products/matrixbrute/manual/MatrixBrute_Changes_Manual_2_0_EN.pdf), and page 13 of the 2.0 Changes manual (http://downloads.arturia.net/products/matrixbrute/manual/MatrixBrute_Manual_2_0_1_EN.pdf).

Basically, press all three of PRESET + SEQ + MOD together. The matrix will show all the settings and you can press matrix buttons to change them, or you can use the sequencer section < and > buttons to select a parameter and the preset/save sections < and > buttons to change values. Press any of PRESET, SEQ or MOD to exit the settings mode.

There is no bulk dump or looping envelopes, but the 2.0 firmware has some other goodies. Instead of a looping envelope you could use a custom LFO waveform.
