Post by: avsp on January 12, 2020, 05:42:01 pm
Hi everyone,

Is it possible to change the value range of the modulation strip on the Keystep?

Not that I know of.

If you're running the CV out into a synth patch it in through an attenuator (mod depth).

Eg on a Neutron ATT1 IN in to control whatever you like . The ATT1 knob will limit the range.
Or patch it into FREQ MOD to control the filter cutoff. Then the MOD DEPTH knob will limit the range.

For MIDI possibly MIDI utility gear is available to can do such tricks. Probably epensive if that's all you need.

If you use your KS with a computer then do it within your DAW. If it hasn't a built-in MIDI tool then search for a VST that does the trick for you.

I believe that the values are Midi specific, usually from 0 to 127 - The software itself (such as Modular V) would allow you to set the limits of the inputs such as a filter so that you would set it for none to narrow to wide range in both positive or negative amounts.  Other software may also allow you to set limits as well.
