Title: arpeggiator: adding harmony/chord capability
Post by: davew on December 21, 2019, 07:59:10 am
I'm really enjoying the new features added in Pigments 2. I appreciate the blend of new synthesis and user-friendliness features (e.g., undo/redo and reassign mod destinations from one source to another).

I'd love to see an option for selecting whether each arpeggiator step plays just 1 note, or multiple notes simultaneously, of the keys being held down. This way, some of the steps would play harmonic intervals or chords. For example, steps 1 and 2 might play just the default 1 note each, while step 3 might play the first 2 notes being held down, and step 4 might play all 3 notes being held down.

As with other arp options, these could be locked or set to change for each step over time. The first time through, step 1 might play just 1 note. The second time through, step 1 might play a chord including all notes being held down. The third time through, step 1 might play a harmonic interval with just the 1st and 2nd notes being held down.

Blending single notes with harmonic intervals and chords would enable creation of even more organic and amazing sounding patterns.

Thanks for your consideration!

Definitely would like this feature as well or at least with SEQUENCE to be able to play multiple keys to that sequence we created. It would be like a chord pattern.

agree that polyphonic arp / chords would be a great addition
