Sending midi CC values through the Matrix

I can turn Macro knob 1 and send midi CC data.
I can use the Mod Matrix to send Env 3 to the Macro 1 knob.   The envelope then 'virtually' turns the Macro knob.  But this doesn't send and CC data out.
Should this work?
Can it be made to work?  This would be incredibly useful!

That could be very cool.. but wouldn't it case midi loops in some/most scenarios?

Only if you've got a midi loop!  If it's ok to have a knob send CC out, it should be ok to have a matrix tell a knob to send a CC out ;-)
