Why does Matrix Brute show two different Midi devices?

In Ableton, I see:

1) MatrixBrute (Midi Interface) and
2) MatrixBrute (unknown midi device) ...

??

Also in Logic MatrixBrute shows up with 2 MIDI interfaces. Both seem to work, so no problem, but do not know the reason why.

MatrixBrute (unknown midi device) ... is the usb midi connection

MatrixBrute (Midi Interface) .....  is the direct midi connection (the five pin thing)

If you're not using both, i'ld select the usb option.
