Beatstep iPad and minibrute
« on: September 14, 2016, 05:52:30 pm »
Hi,

I have a beatstep with an iPad and a minibrute, i want to clock the minibrute to the beatstep but not to have the pitch information of the beatstep to the minibrute.

I want to have a séquence runing in the iPad and be able to do a different arpegio on the minibrute with the arpegiator.

How does That works?

Thanks

Have you tried using different MIDI Channels? Like setting the MiniBrute to receive on Channel 2 while the beatstep is sending on Channel 1.

MIDI Clock is MIDI Channel agnostic, so every instrument in a MIDI chain will receive it.

MIDI Notes are MIDI Channel aware, so each instrument will only receive those sent for a specific MIDI Channel.

If the iPad is set to receive on Channel 1, the MiniBrute on Channel 2 and BeatStep is sending (notes/CCs) on Channel 1, the MiniBrute won't "see" them, only the iPad (app) will.
