Beatstep with Vermona DRM (again)
« on: October 11, 2015, 11:37:39 am »
Hi folks, i ended up coming here, just to ask directly if the Beatstep (not the pro) is working or not with the Vermona DRM1?
Unfortunately the internet, the advertising and the user guide does not match each other.

The manual says: 2.3.2 MIDI connection
Use the included MIDI adapter to send control signals of all sorts to external MIDI- compatible devices. Each of BeatStep’s encoders and pads can be configured independently to send specific MIDI data.

The internet says: The beatstep is a monophonic sequencer, it's only going to play one voice on your DRM1 at a time, ie, your kick and hats can't overlap. It's not the machine for the job.

The advertising of the Beatstep on the Arturia website says: MIDI
BeatStep keeps going where the competition stops: it has a MIDI output as well. You can use the pads to control THAT OLD DRUM MODULE or the drum sounds on your workstation. Use the step sequencer to bring new life to your MIDI keyboards. This controller will give you an unlimited number of ways to create and be great. But that’s not all! There's also…

I hope it's enough to understand why i'm so confused :) … (there's a lot more online!)

Thx in advance

Re: (Case 243708) [Technical Support] -  from Arturia

"Hello,

I don't believe the beatstep is the sequencer for the job in this case.  They are right that the kick and hats can't overlap within the sequencer mode.  It's why we added the drum sequencer on the Beatstep Pro :)

Regards,

Rebecca"
