Mapping to Ableton
« on: August 17, 2015, 01:01:10 am »
Hello all, my question is perhaps the simpler version of what other people have been asking... because I can't get Live to work even on an elementary level. Despite it receiving MIDI and the indicators flashing, nothing works - not the transport controls, not the keyboard... nothing. Here is what I did.

1. Updated the firmware (now it's 1.33).
2. Saved the Ableton template from the website into the MIDI Control Center.
3. Ableton Preferences: select controller -> Keylab 49, Input -> Keylab 49. MIDI Ports: Track - ON, Sync - OFF, Remote - ON.

I spent the entire day on this today, and am now quite angry and depressed that I can't music. Just opened up a bottle of moonshine I brought back from Serbia. Please, someone, help. I'll be eternally thankful.

This should really be a much easier process. People shouldn't have to map things manually. Not with Ableton, and not in goddamn 2015...
