Need help with BeatStep and Midi mapping in Ableton
« on: April 16, 2015, 08:25:19 pm »
I want to use the pads on my beatstep to mute tracks however when I midi map in ableton live the beatstep pad mapping is also assigned to notes on my keyboard. So there fore if I map a track mute to the first pad on the beatstep it registers as a note on my keyboard.

How can I get it to not do that? The beatstep does not need to be linked to keyboard notes.

Have you tried using the mcc and changing the pads to switches and use cc .

Ok thanks that worked.

1 problem is I mapped the arm/disarm tracks to a pad. It works but it is inverted. When I want to Arm the track the light on the beatstep pad turns off. When I want to disarm the light turns on.

how can I get this to invert?
 This is how it should be:

Arm = Pad Light ON
Disarm = Pad Light OFF
