808/909 sustainable kick - for trap or jungle type kick/bass
« on: March 14, 2015, 12:12:22 pm »
Saw an 808 thread here but didn't think much of the preset ( http://bradyjacobsen.com/microbrute/?id=222 ) - usable effect for Kraftwerk type classic electro kicks but thought I would dial in a patch for the Microbrute that allows the following:

- variable sustain on 'tail'
- tracks to the keyboard/notes correctly (AFAIK the microbrute filter resonance wont track successfully over octaves)
- variable 'click' and opening 'thump' control

you could use this as a tom too.

Have a fiddle if you like...

ENV Amt on the VCA will give you some control over the volume of the initial thud.

Increasing sustain will make that first thud decay longer (and a bigger 'dip' in the pitch).

Release will give you a longer 'tail'. If you need the fuzz of the modern commercial trap sounding kicks try opening the cutoff a little.

Another cool thing about the patch: if you tap the keyboard notes the pitch will decay out more (like the classic jungle bass notes) but if you hold the note, it will remain sustained (a bit more like Atlanta trap).

Enjoy!
