Mini Brute - No Sound from OSC section
« on: October 27, 2014, 05:57:51 pm »
Guys,

My minibrute is not playing out any sound from the oscillator section. I hear the filter at self oscillation, so it looks like it's just the OSC section not outputting sound. Any ideas? Any Hope?

UPDATE: OK, so after spending more time with it, here's what I've found:

1) Filter sounds thru to main output (if i crank res to self oscillate, i clearly and loudly hear the sound of the filter.)
2) Phono jack the same
3) If I CRANK the volume on my PA, I can BARELY hear the sound of the OSC section, all waveforms are present, but again, my system is cranked to the max to hear it.

Im guessing that the issue isnt the OSC section, but in the OSC -> AMP path, the AMP simply isn't amplifying the OSC section. Maybe a bad connection?

I noticed upon internal inspection that the cable from the ANALOG board to the DIGITAL board, that the plastic on the female connection on the Analog board was chipped and cracked on one edge. I cleaned out the glue and chips and reseated. all pins look Ok although I didnt put a meter on 'em yet.

Still trouble with the OSC amplification...

BRUNO HELPPPP!!!!

Erik
