DC Power Supply 61 - Which is it (12v or 6v)?
« on: June 24, 2012, 12:30:19 am »
Regarding DC power supplies for the Analog Laboratory 61, which is the recommended spec?

The Analog Laboratory online pdf manual advises 12v DC 500mA

Whereas the hard copy manual (and back of the 61 Key controller) advises 6v DC 500mA.

I'm guessing I go with the advice on the keyboard then?

Thanks Manuel

I appreciate it.   ;)

I searched this board for the words "power" and "supply" in separate searches and never got any results...lol   ???

By the way...I also have the 32 Key Factory and the manual says 12v 1.5A, whereas the back of the keyboard says 12v 0.5A. I notice you had a similar query regarding the 25 Key Player.

Cheers Manuel

Woody.

It's not so much the volts that matter, a range from 6vdc to 12vdc should power it, it's the amps that you need to look out for. I wouldn't use a psu over 1.2 amp (1200 ma)

But the most common issue not usually tackled is tip polarity, most modern devices now have diodes to protect against using the wrong tip/ground set up. Does the arturia keyboards have this info on the back of the keyboard? Ie -tip or +tip
