plug in/ CPU

When I use the Mg as a plug in for logic (platinum 5 in Mac OSX) I can`t  record any sequence. Always after only a few seconds I get the system overload massage. This happens with no other audio units instrument! :(

MMV unfortunately is very processor hungry.

I don’t know about Mac’s but on my Win2K machine running an AMD 1700XP I have the same sort of problem. Not with all sounds but playing a sequence I have to be careful else the dreaded audio dropout occurs. I’m going to pop a AMD 2400XP to see if this helps.

I to have massive problems with MMV I am using a G4 733mHz 1 Gig ram
OSx Delta 1010 card and Cubase SX. I can play some single notes ok but as soon as you play a chord the thing distorts like hell and the CPU is in the Stratosphere.

Dual 1ghz G4 OSX 10.2.6, 1gb RAM protools HD 6.0, one instance of the plugin, play a few notes and it throws up a message about cpu tooslow, even though i have allocated 99 percent processor usage in protools.

What gives? :x

Did you check the "nbr released" notes in the second page ?
This parameter limites the released notes, and then save CPU when using long released patches.

Don't forgettthat  audio FM patches are very CPU consumming.

This software is not limited, so you can use every module if you want, use audio FM on oscillator and filter, but nothing is free !

For the same patche : two oscillator, one filter, two envelopes, one mixer and one VCA, the MMV is " only" twice consumming than other common VSTi.

Yes, it's very important in MMV to lower your 'nbr' or 'release' to cut sounds that have long release times.  Otherwise, you can easily get 10+ voices going at the same time, and that's just asking for trouble.

FM is also very CPU intensive, but the quality is good, and you pay for that.

pops and stutters for me too, 867 G4 mhz, 896 ram, 10.2.6 OSX logic 6.1 plat.

anyway, you guys were saying it 'cpu' intensive...
i never understood all this stuff, i just want to hear my sounds properly.
is this a situation where more memory would help?  or is it 'oh your G4 is only at that speed so you're stuck'...

I think the problem is that most people are trying to use it as a polyphonic instrument, and I really don't think you can do that efficently at this point. It eats up enough CPU doing one voice! I guess there is a comprimise between quality and quantity.
