MMV 2.2 and 2.5 in Cubase 5?
« on: January 20, 2010, 05:49:29 pm »
Hello!

Is it possible to have both versions at the same time in Cubase 5? I've tried it and only one version will load up. Maybe, I'm not doing something right? I've tried using two folders, one 2.5 and the other 2.2. I've tried renaming one version but still only get one at a time and not two at the same time.

Thanks much!

I think it is not possible. Anyway, it seems better to decide for one version instead of using two.

So, there's no official word from Arturia on this?

Hi, the v2.5 is a simple update to the v2.2, therefore replaces it and share the same ID. And Cubase does not allow 2 different plug-ins sharing the same ID to run concurrently.

Hmmmmm....... DOH!!! Well, you can with other VST's, like Absynth 2,3,4 & 5 at the same time in stand alone and in Cubase... reason being is because I *do* like the new filter changes on some sounds over the older. Some sounds just sound a lot better. I can make some MP3's showing the difference. Well, I programmed the sound in 2.5 and then used the same settings in 2.2.. YUCK!!! I can't even some really close. I was going to uninstall 2.5 to just use 2.2 and move the sounds I programmed to 2.2 but they sound like crap without the new filter.  :'(

Again, I don't like the fact that I can't use 2.5 much because it takes up so much processing power to run the new changes. From what I've read here, it seems that MAC handles better but not PC. So it changed sides here instead of both getting better. I would really love to use both 2.2 and 2.5. Same patches in 2.2 can use a lot more voices then 2.5... when 2.5 makes the PC freeze up at times.  :'(

ARE YOU LISTENING OUT THERE PROGRAMMERS?  ;D  ::) CAN YOU FIX THIS SOMETIME THIS YEAR AND NOT WAIT ANOTHER 5 YEARS?!?!?! ???  :o

OK.... I've vented.... but I don't feel any better. :D

One example is in standalone mode, load up K.Ujiie>Pads>KU_Ober in 2.5. It's max is 6 voice. 2.5 takes up 45% at 6 notes. In 2.2 it only takes up 23% on my PC. That's about double the load there. I'll check later to find more examples, unless, someone has some more.

What does it take for Arturia to take notice of a problem and fix it?

How do we get your attention to not drag this out for 4 or 5 more years to fix problems?

What is Arturia's plans for MMV? Care to share with the users? Is this in the budget to get more bug fixes?

Do you plan on fixing the long list of bugs compiled over the years?

It helps to let the users know what to expect. If I know it'll be 6 or more months to finish a bunch of bug fixes, I feel better knowing at least your working on it. But remaining quite about everything is really annoying!! Waiting for weeks to get an answer isn't too bad.... I mean, at least you're reading the forum.
