Someone Please Stop This Crackling!!!
« on: February 16, 2004, 09:05:56 am »
Hi.
I'm using the cs-80v as a vst in cubase sx. The cs80v will load and play the sequence I program in cubase, but after about the fourth bar, a crackling noise starts building. It starts out as sparse clicking noises and begins to build into a deafening frenzy. Gradually fades out after I mute the track in cubase. I notice it happens especially when I am just looping a single note. First thought it might have been due to the delay, but it still does it with delay disengaged. Then I thought it may have been an ASIO or DirectX problem. I have to admit that I don't know much about ASIO or DirectX and it seems like the problem could be somewhere in there. It seems to happen as the cs80v sounds start overlapping upon themselves (too much?). Anybody know about this?

Here's what I have:

1.6 Ghz Pentium 4
768 MB RAM
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
M-Audio Midisport UNO 1X1 (usb)
Win XP Pro
Cubase SX 2.0
ASIO 2.0
DirectX 9
Recording at 48000/24

Sounds like you are trying to run to low of latency.

Your computer is not fast enough.
