Spark stops after 4 Steps in Song Mode
« on: February 05, 2013, 04:12:31 pm »
Hey there,
tried to Programm a Song. My Spark runs as Slave in y MIDI Setup.

Normally, when i press Play on Octatrack spark runs like it should (only the really first note is missing, like i wrote in another thread)
in Pattern mode...

But in Song mode Spark makes 4 Steps and then ist stops. Any idea what iīm doing wrong?

I have had this same thing happen when slaving it to my rm1x.

It basically means you have the octatrack set up incorrectly.  At least that's what happened with me.  If I remember correctly the RM1x was sending midi timecode (which I believe spark does not support??) and spark's sequencer was getting stuck at the 4th step.

You'll need to verify in the manual and set up your octatrack corresponding to the settings supported.  I believe it worked for me when I sent midi clock from my RM1x and received midi clock in and set midi clock start / stop in to be from the rm1x.  Make sure your octatrack is sending midi clock out as well.

Mostly I think it was due to the midi timecode.  Hope this helps you track it down.

Indeed, it is very likely  a MIDI clock issue.

If Spark is supposed to be controlled by a midi clock, but no midi clock is sent, it will play for one beat then stop, from what I've encountered.
