A way to export MIDI from just one pad
« on: February 05, 2013, 07:22:32 pm »
I'm currently trying out the demo and considering purchasing the SparkLE when it comes out, but I noticed one thing that's missing and which would really help the workflow. I use Spark as a VST and when sequencing a track and I like to do all my sequencing in my DAW. Currently you can drag'n'drop only the whole pattern (or use "Send MIDI From Sequencer to Host" and record it), but then you have to edit it to separate the sounds. It would be very useful, at least for me, to be able to drag'n'drop just one pad (or alternatively, when sending MIDI to host, to not send MIDI from muted pads).

i agree

for now, a good workaround would probably be to have a spare pattern that you keep empty just for exporting...

copy the pattern there, then erase all the pads, then export that pattern

That's actually a good idea...I add that to the wish list!

Kind regards,

You actually can do that!

In the top panel, Pattern view, you can drag and drop an individual instrument's pattern to MIDI.

Click on one of the "instrument" pattern, avoid clicking on a step or it will input a note instead, and drop it on a MIDI track in your sequencer, assuming that your sequencer allows that.

I also agree on mute/solo not sending MIDI out when not playing, that should be the behavior IMO.
