Can MiniBrute control Mg Source?
« on: January 29, 2013, 12:04:19 am »
Hi There,

Just wondering if I can control pitch and Gate properly with the MiniBrute?  Gate doesn't seem to be working, I think because the Source needs S-Trig, and the CV pitch seems to be 3 or 4 octaves above the MiniBrute... just wanted to get a second opinion before I try to find a trigger converter, and something to solve the pitch problem.

Thanks!

Yes  the MB issues V-trig and as such is not directly compatible withe the S-trig of the Mg Source. The MB outputs a CV that is related to the actual
MIDI key given by the octave selection switch (i.e. it is not 0V for the first key and 2v for last, but these values plus 1V multiplied by the selected octave.
I guess that you should set the MgSource to the lowest octave then it should fit quite well.
