DR-909 Rim shot problems..
« on: November 23, 2012, 11:16:42 pm »
Is it just me or does the emulation of the TR-909 rimshot sound nothing like the TR-909 ?
I cant get it to sound remotely like the TR-909.
Is this a known issue ?

Im using 1.5 on mac

Hi - I replied more in your previous thread but yes, you are correct: the 909 Rim does not sound very authentic.

I still find it a useful model for rim sounds but if I wanted an authentic 909 Rim, I would defo look elsewhere (probably import a sample into the kit)..

btw, for Rims, have you tried the Electricity_RS Physical Model (PM)?  I ignored the PMs for ages thinking they would only be good for accoustic sounds but they are FAB for electro sounds if you push them in the right direction..
