Title: Cable for output signal from MiniBrute.
Post by: ccristoo on October 11, 2016, 01:15:27 pm
OK,

I'm totally new to this, so I have ask the embarrassing noob questions.

I've been able to use a USB to use the synth as a Midi Synth, but I wish to play and hear the MiniBrute's actual sound.

Is this cable OK as an output cable?
http://www.belfieldmusic.com.au/uxl-usa-3-instrument-cable-3m-10ft-guitar-lead-usa3.html

What do I need to plug the cable into to hear the sound, and how can I record the sound?

I have a laptop and FL Studios. And speakers attached to my laptop. I could buy some headphones.

Can I connect the synth directly to my laptop, play and record it, or do I have to set it up some other way?

Hi ccristoo

that cable looks fine
you would will want a usb audio interface what os is your laptop running here a link of some good value ones (http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/13-of-the-best-budget-usb-audio-interfaces-570850) do you have another gear you want to connect and or record at once are what are you looking for an interface do you want dead simple to use one input two outputs usb powder or would you like something you can grow into
something like this is pretty good all in one http://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-Stereo

have a look at some of the manuals for usb audio interfaces and should get a idea of how and what you want
