Title: My first track done entirely with the MicroBrute (Dubby Techno)
Post by: mdreid on January 10, 2015, 02:18:02 am
I got the MicroBrute as a xmas present for myself and have been having a ton of fun pulling sounds from it. Despite watching many videos before getting it, I had no idea just how versatile a synth it was until I started playing with it.

Anyway, here's my kind of dub/techno track made entirely with the Micro (all drums, bass, leads, sweeps, etc.) were recorded into Live where I then added some reverb and delay (the Max for Live Convolution Reverb and Surreal Machines Magnetic and Diffuse devices) and arranged and EQ'd the whole thing. No other sound sources were used.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out but would appreciate any feedback. I'm still pretty new at this. :)

Cheers,

Mark

I think you are right to feel happy with this, I would, it's excellent!  You have highlighted many of the excellent brute sounds in a nice, coherent piece, well done.  Good drum sounds too.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the feedback! Given that the Micro doesn't have a noise generator, I was particularly surprised that I could get snares/hats sounds out of it. It turns out that if you crank up the metalizer, brute factor, and resonance you can get a pretty good approximation of white noise. :)

Cheers,

Mark
