Title: minibrute user demos
Post by: GFC on July 15, 2012, 06:34:37 pm
heres my little demo i made in a few hours titled "escape from the Brute" inspired by one of my fav films  :),

alot of layers, no fx/no eq/reverb on a few channels but apart from that no fx at all, i tried to keep it as raw as possible, i used a bit of automation in daw to pan a few things.

however i feel the brute stacks really well,

Enjoy folks

hope to hear some of your own creations.

Multitracking is the key with mono synths, your little demo illustrates this axiom quite nicely!  :)

Dunno about you folks, but it seems to me to be totally unfair that people are already posting Minibrute demo tracks here when 99% of us are still waiting for our MiniBrutes to arrive (and have been waiting many months).    At least wait a few weeks so that the rest of us get them !!  :)

I'd rather see the videos while I wait personally as it keeps my interest high, plus I like seeing what other people can do with them knowing the product will soon be in my hands mwahaha.

Agree with Jake here. Keep the videos coming!

That said, I had a dream last night that my minibrute arrived. Get outta my head!

no problems folks, i deleted the second one, i dont want to spoil anything for no one else.

i would have thought audio demos would be more suitable then video however i hope you all get your brutes soon, as it is a awesome instrument.

These are excellent :o. Especially enjoyed the Escape from NY theme; coincidentally I had a little Carpenter marathon earlier in the week!

I spent the past few days sampling some drum sounds from my 'Brute so hopefully I'll have a something to post within the next few days.

here's a completely non-musical little tour around the top panel as I play with knobs and sliders affecting a simple arpeggio, with a little extra trashiness thrown in care of my Mg delay. Shows off the aggressive qualities of the filter.

got mine today for christmas!  it is AMAZING.

Here's two things I threw together, one is a random beat I recorded in garageband using 100% minibrute patches (including the drums - no fx or anything, each drum sound is one patch, no layering on the drums)
The other is a really obnoxious heavily-brute-factored bass wobble!   ;D

https://soundcloud.com/beefinator-2/i-haz-teh-minibrute

https://soundcloud.com/beefinator-2/lolz-minibrute-bass

And here I'm just getting silly.  I don't even know what I was doing.
https://soundcloud.com/beefinator-2/what-am-i-even-doing

And here's a partial cover of wolfgang gartner's "Illmerica", every single sound made using the minibrute, no external fx. (except a little ducking with the kick for the obligatory sidechained feel, but that's not used to modify the sound of the minibrute)
https://soundcloud.com/beefinator-2/minibrute-illmerica

AAAAND THERE'S MORE:

here's a single patch I made on the minibrute.  Single take recording, live.
https://soundcloud.com/beefinator-2/minibrute-single-patch-auto
A bit of info on the patch in the soundcloud description, I'll post a pic of the patch up later.

Here's 5 and a half minutes of me having fun playing around with the minibrute and a lofi fuzz distortion pedal I made:

Recorded straight from the distortion pedal, it sounds killer with the minibrute's filter.

Hello :-)
Just got a MiniBrute this Tuesday, and yesterday I recorded this cover of Nine Inch Nails' "A Warm Place".
https://soundcloud.com/heavymaskinen/a-warm-place-nin-cover

I found the midi somewhere, so it was basically just a programming exercise :-) Nearly everything is Minibrute except for a poly-pad that is Oberheim Matrix 1000. And there is a whole bunch of delays going on.

hey arturia users, i'm new here and this is my first recording with my minibrute. just a rough track for fun to hear how it tracks.
i love this synth, fantastic piece of gear; excellent sound, super affordable, and most of all, really fun!!!

it's just some sample and hold with an mxr carbon copy delay, recorded direct to ablelon live with the 'cathedral reverb' plugin.

enjoy-

Wow, nice work! I'm seriously impressed Beta.
This is a slap in the face to all nitwits who say the Minibrute can't do mellow sounds  ;D  :D
Do you happen to have a patch sheet for the wonderful lead sound at 8:46?

Post by: beta cloud on April 04, 2013, 07:17:57 pm
wow, thanks coldwar77!
unfortunately i didn't make a patch sheet for that... my 2 yr. old has a tendency of turning the knobs on me when i walk away! honestly, you can't get a bad sound out of this thing. i like the mellow sounds with low cutoff, (9 0'clock or so), and high res, (3 oclock or so), and a sine sub 2 octaves down. other than that i just mix my waves up and feel out a sound that i like.
thanks again-

just a proud owner of the Minibrute and although i barely use a 303 type of sound anymore it has an remarkable effect in my neurons everytime i hear one. just 4 fun i tried to make the MB sound like it. Just a simple patternloop with no adjustments or fx except a eq, reverb and bit of delay over the minibrute:

MINIBRUTE doing electro!

I wouldn't normally make something this generic, but I got sidetracked from the actual song I ws working on and started twiddling around with pitchbending and a filter LFO for the second half of this preview.  Lots of fun.    :D

The minibrute made the kick, snare, bassline, and distorted wubby sounds.

ive finished two tracks with the minibrute, ive also used my critter&guitari pocket piano which runs through the MB.
The Pocket Piano is such a nice addon to the MB. The sound fits perfectly with the MB.
so if anyone is thinking about getting an extra hardware oscillator, the pocket piano is maybe a nice tip for you :)

all tracks are done in FL-Studio, the synths you hearing are the MB or the Pocket Piano, sure with some FX.
So the D&B track is pure Bruteness^^
On the second track i used a soft synth for the bell and the string sound, but the rest is the awsome MB and the lovely Pocket Piano. :)

first one is Drum n Bass

second one is tech-house
