Title: Ability to save individual instruments as well as kits?
Post by: jonmoore on March 13, 2012, 09:52:33 pm
I'm finding that the synthesis engine is really powerful in Spark VDM so I'm able to create a huge range of drum timbres from each synthesis engine (Phatwerk, Ace Clone etc). Ideally I would like to create banks of kicks, hats, snares etc based on a mix of the synthesis engines but the only way I seem to be able to save my instrument edits is as part of a Kit.

If this isn't possible, can I request this feature to be included in future versions of Spark/Spark VDM?

Many thanks.

This is a good idea indeed.
There is the same issue for kits: you can not save kits outside of a project.
We are thinking about this and trying to find a way to change it.
But I can not tell you when it will be done.

Thanks for the rapid reply Kevin.

I really do hope this is a priority as individual kit/instrument saving would seem to me to be a key feature for a percussion plugin, especially for one that sounds so good!  :)

I am a new user to Spark. However, the fact that I cannot export individual sounds is very surprising to me.

When I was unable to figure out how to do it, I though that I was slow as surely this simple feature should be easy to do...I guess not though.

Is this even on the radar for being added in the near future?

+1 to exporting individual sounds. Especially through the effects and mods.

Record it out onto an audio track? Then you have your own samples. This way you can even manipulate filters as you layback

Thanks, Stuart

Hi ,you can export each instrument into a daw ,all you do is solo the instruments you want to export in audio .you can do this for one or all using the solo function .

hope this helps

hi you can save instruments ,but you have to do this in a kit .all you do to make banks of instruments is name the instrument and tag it .ie bass drum when building a kit but then as your collection grows when in the library /instrument view you will have the choice to make new kits from your own instruments. like my screenshot showing my bass drums which i can pick.

hope this is what you mean

Indeed... Making banks of almost anything is so easy, because of the huge array of sounds doing lists like this is really the only way to drill through sounds

Thanks, Stuart
