Title: 1601 Sequencer - Better Manual?
Post by: TomC11 on October 10, 2010, 03:55:45 pm
Everyone! I would really like to delve into the 1601 Sequencer to a higher level than the manual provides. I've search the internet for original manuals - Found a lot on the Arp 2600 - good ones too - but nothing on the sequencer. Anyone know where to go for more information.
Thanks to all. :-\

Most  of the URLs listed above are for the service manual. There is a PDF given for the owner's manual, but it's a bad xerox copy that's difficult to read and the actual patch photos are undecipherable. The good news is that
there's now a readable PDF of the 1601 Owner's manual available at https://www.dsl-man.de/display/TTSHADDONS/Arp1601

There are several downloads on the page. The owner's manual is toward the bottom. Since it's the manual for the original hardware device, not everything lines up one on one with Arturia's software version, but it's close and the original manual is a vast improvement over the sketchy avoidance of actual information in the notoriously uninformative (and misinformed) Arturia 2600 manual which devotes a total of 3 pages to the sequencer's operation.

It would be great if a good tech writer would rewrite the current 2600 manual, which is a disgrace. The sequencer's operation isn't entirely intuitive and it deserves a good explanation.

drpgleeson,
Thank you for the link!  I did some speed reading through it.  Anybody see if ARP2600-V sequencer operates like the real ARP sequencer before I dedicate a long time to comprehend the real ARP manual?  This pseudo ARP hardware link may interest you guys:
