Title: Bug: Clock bleed thru when LFO amount is via mod wheel
Post by: 3phase on January 26, 2014, 03:37:20 am
mod wheel up one third, LFO AMT selected , sync seq..  filter high pass.. brute factor 3 o clock.

sequence from ableton
distortions thru clock bleedthru..

when i switch clock out of ablton off ..distortion clock klicker sounds disappear..

when i switch modwheel to cut off . ..distortion clock klicker sounds disappear..

when i switch modwheel back to LFOAmt and Sync to free..distortion clock clicker sounds only appear when i move the modwheel. bleedthru stops as soon i leave the mod wheel alone.

maybe i am wrong with the clock bleed sice its doing the noises aswell without clock when the mod wheel is moved.
 In any case its feels like a bug of some sort since the noises onlly appear while moving the mod wheel..

i just had them also when the mod wheel is doing the filter cutoff.

In any case its related to the external input of mid notes. As soon i stop the sequence from ableton and play by hand the phenomen disappears

I'm not sure to understand your problem here.
I've tested it with live 9 but no clock bleeding thru...

its no clock bleed but some kind of zippery noises that get into the audio path when moving the mod wheel. without midi data send via usb the noises disappear

good question..there was no changes in the modx wheel value but a mod wheel envelope since the msters of ableton dont allow to reset a controler value  to zero

Ok i got it !
We've been trying to understand where it comes from with Bruno.
This is not linked with modwheel CC coming from Live.

Bruno could you explain it ? To difficult for me !

hummm let's just  say it's a bug,  because it would be far too long to describe.

I'm currently having this problem and this is the only source I've been able to find, ANYWHERE, describing this issue. Could you tell me what the fix was? If there was a fix...

I just posted a video of the issue as well - video (http://youtu.be/7GR3kthBduA)

I guess that the following problem I've been having is a similar manifestation of this issue;

 I'm using the inbuilt LFO of the microbrute to modulate pitch in this example. If I'm using it sync'ed to the sequencer via MIDI from my DAW (Reaper), I'm getting some horrible glitches, but ONLY when I move the modulation wheel down from 100%! At maximum, there's no problem, and there's no problem when LFO sync is set to Free Run. (btw, I'm not running the sequencer, it's set to off, I'm just holding down a single note with 1 octave maximum shift).

Same problem applies if using the LFO to modulate other parameters, but you can hear it best when mod'ing pitch.

Same applies whether I use the MIDI port in or the USB port.

Is there a fix yet?

Here's a demo of the problem;

Hello,

I am having this same problem.

I have tried:
- Using a different midi cable
- Using two different DAWs (FL Studio and Maschine)
- Different midi channels

None of the above have helped.

The glitches in sound appear only when I am using the modwheel in LFO amount position. The glitches do not appear if modwheel is at 100% (or 0%).

Is there any fix to this?

Teemu
