Title: Pitch problems on brand new Minilab
Post by: pitcproc on January 05, 2014, 02:24:49 am
Just bought this, plugged it in, installed the software, and I have the weirdest problem: If I play notes too hard, or too fast, the pitch wavers. The default is 0.0 but it'll jump up while I'm playing. This happens in the Arturia software, and also in NI Reaktor.

I use the midi controller to turn the pitch slider off completely, and it still wavers. However, if I use the keys on the virtual keyboard in Analog Lab, it's fine.

Anyone run into this? Probably just going to return this Monday, but it'd be nice if there was a fix.

Hi pitcproc and forum! I'm having a similar issue with my new MiniLab where the pitch changes while playing. Did you figure out the problem?

On top of that, about 20% of the pitch strip seems unresponsive and won't bend up a full note, only down. So far I have installed the latest drivers and firmware with no luck. Went back to the store to exchange it thinking the hardware was faulty and the salesman claimed it was due to my using Windows 8.1 and will be fixed in a future update.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Hi jaf

My pitchbend is functioning top to bottom on windows 8.1 analog lab 1.1

Open MIDI control center

Sync the device

Press control + m or click view in the top toolbar and enable MIDI console

Control the pitchbend to get the very top reading and the very bottom reading

Lower should be  In:  E0  00  00  |  Ch 1 Pitch bend

Upper should be  In:  E0  7F  7F  |  Ch 1 Pitch bend

centre should be  In:  E0  00  40  |  Ch 1 Pitch bend

If you get these readings the hardware is sending the correct data

Regards the pitch changes while playing you should give some example of patches
to make sure its not in the presets nature to vary
