Title: Analog Lab + Oberheim SEM, no Edit Mode
Post by: Coil on June 08, 2013, 08:10:21 pm
Hi,

I have bought Analog Lab today and the Edit Mode works nice with my installed Modular, Mini and Arp2600 in Edit Mode.
Only the Oberheim SEM Edit Mode doesn`t work and also is not available in the Analog Lab Preferences.
All PlugIns are updated to the last versions.

any Idea ?

I'm seeing the same. The SEM V entry in the pref window has the 1.1.7 version noted and a "Must be updated" info. As the 1.1.7 isn't available yet, I think we'll have to wait for it to edit SEM V in the AnaLab. Can someone from Arturia confirm, please?

I don't know how much Analog Lab shares with Analog Laboratory, but when I used the latest update (1.1.6) for Analog Laboratory, I couldn't open the SEM-V gui (it was just a blank white page) in the edit mode.  I reverted back to the second most recent version (1.1.5) and then I was OK.

I have similar problems. In Preferences I get the following.

Jupiter-8V MUST BE UPDATED (I already have the latest update)

SEM V  NOT DETECTED
WURLITZER V  NOT DETECTED

Which means I am not able to edit them. I've installed all the latest updates. Arturia can you help?

Also - is there a manual? I'm having trouble creating and naming my own presets. Guy

Hello,

For your information,
The updates Jupiter-8V 2.5.4, Oberheim SEM V 1.1.7 and Wurlitzer V 1.0.6 that will be compatible with Analog Lab for editing are being tested,
and will be available soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, Thomas. It's a superb piece of software, just getting the few issues ironed out will really improve things!

Thanks Thomas. No disrespect to your eminent sound designers but I prefer to make my own sounds, so it will be great to get this fully functional.

Crack the whip and don't let your boys have any supper until they've got those updates ready! ;)

I don't think that this 1.1.7 dmg download is bug-free, because it's unusually labeled "latest.dmg". I'm constantly getting a "There was an error"-message during installation.

Little update: seems that Sem update 1.1.7 for VST and stand-alone were installed ok, even with the mentioned installer error.

I had then re-installed Analog Lab after the 1.1.7 Sem was working. Now Sem is showing up as "Detected" in the Lab preferences and you can activate it! ;) But this seems not to be the recommended way, if you always have to re-install Lab when you update some of the single synths... :-X

I installed SEM-V 1.1.7 (iMac, OSX 10.6.8, Cubase LE4), now the full version works well with Analog Lab; I didn't have to re-install Analog Lab 1.0.3.  :)  I had to reboot the computer twice, but works fine now (except for joystick not working).  I set preferences for SEM-V in Lab in stand-alone no problem.

For me it's totally irrelevant if you have to re-install or reboot it. If no one from Arturia is able to define a valid update procedure (and support it), then the software is more or less buggy.

Same problem here; happy to download and install the SEM update but still not recognized by the Analog Lab ("Must be updated"). Will try restarting, permissions fix, etc.
Loving the Lab so would really like to see it doing what it's supposed to.

SEM 1.1.7
Lab 1.0.4

My previous Jupiter issue is now resolved

However, this one still stands

I've done all the things suggested above too by I am left with

SEM V = NOT DETECTED

I also reported this wrt version 1.1.6 and 1.0.3 of Lab, so it seems i wasted my time

It's not working - so it IS a bug, let's not pull our punches

FWIW Arturia, I am running Snow Leopard, everything is up to date

frustrating !

PS - Why does the SEM install have completely different permissions to all other arturia plugins ?

and also no working SEM Edit functionallity here  ::)

I've just updated Analog Lab to version 1.0.4 and updated to the latest versions of Jupiter-8V2 2.5.4, Oberheim SEM V 1.1.7 and Wurlitzer V 1.0.6, which previously weren't being detected and loaded.

Analog Lab now detects and loads the latest version Jupiter-8V2 but still doesn't detect the other 2.  I've closed and relaunched Analog Lab several times, rebooted the computer but no success.

I'm on OSX 10.6.8 if that makes a difference, although reading some of the posts here it appears as if Analog Lab is a bit of a temperamental beast, when it comes to detecting SEM and Wurltizer, particularly SEM.

The workaround which has been successful to me is as follows

put a duplicate sem .vst file in the library/arturia/oberheim sem v/ folder !

quite why this should be necessary at all is beyond me, but it works - hopefully as a temporary solution

This was for an OSX snow leopard NOT DETECTED issue

HI

I m happy some issues are solved.
Also you did not lose your time, we are analysing this, AFAIK I think Analog Lab team was unable to reproduce and fix it.
It is however a very importaant issue that is bothering us a lot.

Please Contact the support again,
If you have a ticket reply to it to confirm that this is still happening with 104 and 117

I hope we can help you really quickly.

Also could you please open a separate thread in the forum for this specific issue.

Thank you

avantronica: is it possible to check in this folder:
DH / Library / Arturia / Oberheim
Make sure the file Oberheim SEM V.vst is present.

If still a problem, take a look to the permissions:
Right click on the Oberheim SEM V folder / Get Info
Under Sharing & permissions, make sure all users have the read & write permission.

Hello,

Here are some news ...
As a workaround to this issue, you must activate RTAS for Oberheim SEM V so Analog Lab find the full plug-in.
Sorry for the weirdness and inconvenience.

The Oberheim SEM V installer copies the vst plug-in into /Library/Arturia/Oberheim SEM V only if the RTAS is installed (The RTAS wraps this .vst plug-in).
At the same time, Analog Lab searches for Oberheim SEM V.vst in the same directory.

Finally,
This will be fixed in the next update Analog Lab by searching for Oberheim SEM V in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST.
Until it is released, the workaround consists in installing the RTAS plug-in.

The situation is exactly the same for Wurlitzer V, but Jupiter-8V is different.

Hope it helps,

Thank you for the clarification Thomas - that explains it, I explicitly unchecked the RTAS versions during installation.

this dosn`t help me with the audio unit plugIn.
i also don`t have installed the RTAS Version, so should i now install the whole stuff again ?

I had this problem (Mac 10.6.8, LogicPro) and redoing a full install of the latest version of the individual synths with the VSTs fixed both the SEM and the Wurlitzer issue for me.  I can play and edit from Analog Lab now.

Cheers,

Lyford

@Coil:

Just re-install Oberheim SEM V and Wurlitzer V with RTAS components checked.

as Thomas said
or if you don't want to reinstall copy the sem.vst from this location library/audio/plugins/vst    TO   library/application support/arturia/analo lab/embedded

the sem.vst version from the audio/plugins/vst is the last version, 1.1.7 even if you did not checked RTAS during installation

Just re-install Oberheim SEM V and Wurlitzer V with RTAS components checked.

This does the trick, thanks a lot  ;)
