Tried to update my SEM V but the updater won't run on my system (Windows 7) Surely it should be compatible with this version of Windows ?
-
Hi
what do you mean updater ?
are you talking about the installer ?
If yes it should.
NB if the installer is not compatible with your OS, it will clearly tell you so in a message box.

Well that's exactely what it does:
"Error: This program does not support the version of Windows you are running"
I have downloaded the version for Windows 7 and am trying to install on a computer running Windows 7.
Any thoughts ?

Hi
this is strange, could you send a screenshot of the window opening when pressing [start key] + [pause]
Also, try to see if your windows is up to date.

Checked the update history. My Windows version is up to date.
Oh well. My SEM V is working fine. Maybe I should just give up on updating it.

Hi
I think you have to update, your OS, see here (http://www.google.fr/imgres?um=1&sa=N&hl=en&biw=1241&bih=562&tbm=isch&tbnid=SiOjvEcwInGN3M:&imgrefurl=http://www.wegotserved.com/2010/07/12/windows-7-windows-server-2008-r2-service-pack-1-sp1-beta/&docid=V_t0U1McMjNDhM&imgurl=http://www.wegotserved.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Windows_7_Service_Pack_1.png&w=1440&h=860&ei=AQCcUdjAEsar7Aa2iYCQDw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=4&vpy=209&dur=592&hovh=173&hovw=291&tx=159&ty=71&page=1&tbnh=136&tbnw=229&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:84)
There is service pack 1 written.
Thiis means that the 1st major bugfix update of windows seven is installed.
(this is a pretty old update od windows, and fixes a lot of things, anyway, I recommend you to do it for your OS)
I hope it solves your issue with the installer
keep us up to date
thank you
